Join Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry™. In 2010, over 4,000
restaurants, 15 sponsors and partners, and millions of consumers participated in the weeklong campaign, raising a record $1.5 million+ in restaurants. At the same time, participating restaurants saw increased customer traffic and sales while engaging guests and employees in a cause that impacts every community: ending childhood hunger in America.
For example, last September, Joe’s Crab Shack restaurants gave out bounceback coupons for in-store donations: an order of key lime pie for a $1-4 donation and complimentary crab nachos with a donation of $5 or more. All year, the restaurants donated proceeds from Crabby t-shirt sales to No Kid Hungry. The result? Increased sales and a 24% redemption rate that led the group to double its goal and raise $325,000 last year.
This year, from September 18 to 24, participating restaurants will use a variety of tactics to raise funds to support Dine Out For No Kid Hungry campaign to help more kids get the food they need – through school breakfasts, afterschool snacks, summer meals, SNAP (food stamps) and WIC programs, and nutrition education.
